If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into the world of mountaineering, Kang Yatse II is the perfect gateway.

At 6,250 meters, it’s one of Ladakh’s most sought-after trekking peaks, towering above the surreal landscapes of the Markha Valley. This expedition offers more than a summit — it’s a journey through picturesque villages, arid gorges, alpine meadows, and glacier-laced ridgelines, demanding resilience while rewarding trekkers with the raw grandeur of the Himalayas.

This trek isn’t for casual tourists; it’s for those ready to take on their first true 6,000-meter peak, high, wild, and humbling.

Unlike its twin, Kang Yatse I, which is technical, Kang Yatse II is non-technical — but don’t be fooled. The climb is demanding, the summit push long and intense, and altitude unforgiving. Expect early alpine starts, icy slopes requiring crampons, and a summit day that tests your mental and physical limits.

The journey begins in Leh and winds through Hemis National Park, following the classic Markha Valley route. Along the way, you’ll pass ancient monasteries, frozen streams, wild grazing horses, and resilient Ladakhi settlements. Approaching Nimaling, the trail opens into a sweeping alpine plateau, revealing Kang Yatse’s full face for the first time — majestic, mighty, and magnetic.

What makes this expedition truly special is the variety packed into 12 days. You’re not just climbing a mountain — you’re immersing yourself in culture, wilderness, and altitude.

With proper acclimatization, expert guidance, and preparation, Kang Yatse II is a realistic first expedition peak that builds confidence for bigger climbs. This trek is for those who want to go beyond sightseeing and stand atop a mountain, pushing their limits and claiming a Himalayan summit for themselves.

Kang Yatse II is the perfect first 6,000er. Ideal for climbers tackling their first 6,000-meter peak, offering a true taste of Himalayan mountaineering. Experience an Expedition-Style Adventure. A real expedition with hands-on climbing skills, snow travel, and high-altitude challenges. Stand on the summit and take in panoramic vistas of the Markha Valley, Zanskar Range, Karakoram Peaks, and even distant Tibet. Cross snowfields, scree, and moraines for a dynamic, adrenaline-filled trekking experience. Pass through Ladakhi villages, ancient monasteries like Tacha Gompa, and historic sites along the trail. Explore Hemis National Park, home to blue sheep, marmots, and other high-altitude wildlife.
