Climb Mount Toubkal
Reach the highest peak in North Africa on a rewarding trek through the Atlas Mountains, combining dramatic landscapes with rich Berber culture.
Mount Toubkal, standing at 4,167 metres, is the highest peak in Morocco, the Atlas Mountains, and all of North Africa - making it one of the most accessible high-altitude trekking challenges in the world.
Located just 60–65 kilometres south of Marrakech, the journey begins in the mountain village of Imlil, the gateway to the High Atlas. From here, the trek takes you through traditional Berber villages, scenic valleys, and rugged mountain terrain before reaching the summit of this iconic peak.
While the climb is non-technical and does not require specialist mountaineering skills, it is still physically demanding due to altitude and elevation gain. With the right preparation and support, Mount Toubkal offers a challenging yet achievable adventure, making it ideal for both first-time high-altitude trekkers and experienced hikers seeking a rewarding summit experience.

WHAT YOU WILL SEE & EXPERIENCE
Your journey begins in Marrakech before heading into the High Atlas Mountains to the village of Imlil - the starting point for your trek. From here, you’ll follow mountain trails through valleys and traditional Berber settlements, experiencing a unique blend of natural beauty and local culture.
As you ascend, the landscape becomes more rugged and dramatic, with sweeping views across the Atlas Mountains. Along the route, you’ll pass the Sidi Chamharouch shrine and continue up towards the Toubkal refuge, where most climbers spend the night in preparation for summit day.
Summit day begins early, often before sunrise, as you make your way up steep, rocky terrain towards the peak. Reaching the summit is a truly rewarding moment, offering panoramic views across the Atlas range - and on clear days, even as far as the Sahara Desert.
